Francesco Bagnaia wins in Spain ahead of Fabio Quartararo

Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) won the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday 1er May, in Jerez, ahead of Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha). Spaniard Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) completes the podium.

The Spaniard Alex Rins (Suzuki), co-leader of the world championship before the race, finished out of the points.

Quartararo leads the general classification

Bagnaia had the perfect weekend at the Angel Nieto circuit, unrivaled in qualifying with the lap record, and untouchable in the race. He left only crumbs to his opponents in a Grand Prix whose podium is identical to the first row on the starting grid.

Quartararo, consistent and serious during the twenty-five laps, stayed in the wheel of his rival of the day without ever being able to attack him, but second place remains a good deal for the reigning world champion, winner on previous weekend in Portugal: two weeks before “his” Grand Prix, at Le Mans, Quartararo is now alone in the lead in the general classification with 89 points, ahead of Espargaro (82 points).

The Spaniard has long watched the fight between Australian Jack Miller (Ducati, 5and) and Spaniard Marc Marquez (Honda, 4and), before taking the opportunity to never let go of the podium.
