François Hollande and Ségolène Royal: their son Julien skipped Julie Gayet!

Before officially separating in 2007, Ségolène Royal and François Hollande had four children. Among them, we find in particular Julien, a young director and screenwriter aged 35 who is starting to make a name for himself in the world of cinema. The proof ? On November 17, Thomas’ little brother unveiled his film entitled New rich, broadcast on Netflix. This feature film, presented as a romantic comedy “who doesn’t do lace”quickly climbed into the top 10 of the famous streaming platform’s rankings. But if the film is made up of an XXL cast, including great talents such as Nassim Lyes and Zoé Marchal, it could also have been carried by Julie Gayet.

As revealed by the magazine Paris here, this Wednesday, November 29, the former companion of François Hollande would indeed have made an appearance as a guest. Unfortunately, the scene played by the 51 year old actress was ultimately cut during editing. Despite everything, the film was able to count on many other essential faces of French cinema, such as Guillaume Canet, Adèle Exarchopoulos and Gustave Kervern.

Julien Royal: his job before cinema

Before making a living from his passion for cinema, Julien Royal worked in a completely different sector. After having followed courses at the Higher School of Audiovisual Production for three years, the son of François Hollande and Ségolène Royal was in the nightlife. As evidenced by the Atlantico press review published in 2013, which included an article from VSD. “Contrary to Thomas [Hollande]we didn’t see him at his father’s meetings”, the newspaper explained, to evoke the discretion of the videographer. And to continue: “No, to earn a living and continue your activity as a videographer, Julien is a night bartender in a Parisian club, incognito. [VSD l’a] found hiding behind his beard and the beer pumps.”
