The fashion world is breaking new ground – and one of them leads to Frankfurt am Main. On Monday it was officially confirmed that the Hessian Rhine-Main metropolis will be the new host of the Fashion Week from summer 2021. "This turns the financial center of Frankfurt into a new hotspot for the international fashion and lifestyle scene," said Mayor Peter Feldmann.
In total, there will be five platforms, three trade fairs and two conferences in the city from July 6 to 8, 2021. There is also talk of over 2,000 designers, brands and fashion companies that would be expected on site. In Frankfurt am Main, they are already looking forward to the implementation of the Fashion Week, which has always taken place in Berlin the previous years.
Future-oriented and digital
"From the fashion show on the Zeil, our profitable shopping street, to the catwalk on the Eiserner Steg to the streetwear so popular with skaters in the Hafenpark – the innovative, dynamic and cosmopolitan main metropolis welcomes Fashion Week with open arms," said Mayor and city treasurer Uwe Becker quoted.
The international fashion event is organized by Messe Frankfurt and the PREMIUM GROUP. The focus is on the two topics of digitization and sustainability. "The Frankfurt Fashion Week is deliberately aimed at a future-oriented, digitally versed fashion and lifestyle community," says Anita Tillmann, managing partner of the PREMIUM GROUP. One promises "a synthesis of fashion, lifestyle, digital innovations and sustainability" that leads to something new and unexpected.
