Fraport: 2023 results expected at the top of the range


(CercleFinance.com) – Fraport announced on Tuesday a 17.9% increase in its current profit in the first half, thanks to the recovery in passenger traffic at Frankfurt airport.

The German airport operator indicated that its operating result (Ebitda) had reached 481.4 million euros for the first six months of the year, a result lower than what analysts expected, on the basis of revenue up 33.8% to 1.8 billion euros.

Its net profit stood at 85 million euros, compared with a net loss of 53.1 million euros in the first six months of 2022.

In a press release, Fraport explains that it took advantage of the increase in its passenger traffic at Frankfurt airport, which rose by 29.1% to 26.9 million in the first six months of the year to now represent nearly 80% of its 2019 levels, i.e. before the health crisis.

The group has also tightened its forecasts for the 2023 financial year, now counting on an Ebitda at the top of the range of 1.04 to 1.20 billion euros that it had set as a target at the start of the year. year.

Net income should also be at the top of the range of around 300 million euros to 420 million euros that the group had initially given itself.

On the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the Fraport share reacted rather favorably to this publication on Tuesday morning, posting a gain of around 0.9% around 10:30 a.m.
