Frauke Ludowig has launched her own skincare line. In an interview, she reveals what her own beauty routine looks like.

Perfect make-up every day in front of the camera and still keep beautiful skin? Through her many years of work as a TV presenter, Frauke Ludowig (58) has accumulated a great deal of knowledge about beauty and skin care. With this know-how, she has now created her first own care line: “pur lu by frauke ludowig”. Ludowig will present its products at the official on-air launch on Sunday evening from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the main channel of sales channel QVC. Ludowig can also be seen on QVC on Monday (October 24).

In an interview, the 58-year-old reveals what her daily beauty routine looks like, which product she cannot do without and what she thinks of cosmetic surgery.

Ms. Ludowig, have you always wanted to launch your own beauty brand?

Frauke Ludwowig: For many years I have dreamed of having my own products and have always been interested in beauty products. If I was convinced of it, I also advertised it. But I always lacked that certain something and we have created that now! I am very proud to be presenting my first personal care line “pur lu by frauke ludowig” live at QVC on Sunday evening at 10 p.m.

What makes your skincare line different from all the other products?

Ludowig: Above all, we are pursuing a holistic approach here, which I have not had before with other products. The skin is stimulated to regenerate, protected and nourished for 24 hours. The products are free of parabens, mineral oils, silicones and are of course vegan. We produce in Germany, that was particularly important to me.

What does your own daily beauty routine look like?

Ludowig: Things always have to be quick for me, I’m a very practical person. We also follow this approach with the products. After the first coffee I clean my face with the “Refining Cleanser Gel”, then I apply the “Astaxanthin Serum”, which makes the skin look smoother and provides it with an extra boost of moisture. It also protects against UV radiation and free radicals and ensures a complexion full of youthful radiance. Finally, I apply the “Ultra Protect 24 Hours Cream” for a firm complexion and a natural glow. The “Wake Up Eye Cream” protects the sensitive eye area deeply and provides elasticity and resilience. Then my skin is completely protected and cared for.

What beauty tips do you swear by?

Ludowig: The most important thing is to protect the skin from UV radiation. Unfortunately, this is often underestimated, but even when it is cloudy, raining or snowing, our skin is exposed to radiation.

And what is your absolute beauty no-go?

Ludowig: If I didn’t take my make-up off because the evening turned out to be longer than planned, my skin gave me the receipt the next morning. The area around the eyes was red, the skin sensitive, tendency to breakouts… That’s why I keep saying it: make-up removal is the A&O.

Do you have a beauty role model?

Ludowig: My mother. She has always attached great importance to her care and you can see that today. She looks stunning. And now she has my own products in the bathroom and she’s super proud. Of course that pleases me.

When do you feel your best?

Ludowig: Of course it’s great to have make-up for my show or the red carpet, to wear a nice dress, but to be honest, I also really like myself without make-up. I am who I am and we need to start loving ourselves.

Do you always leave the house with make-up on?

Ludowig: Never. I always get make-up for my show and that’s enough for me. You can also meet me in baggy clothes at the weekly market.

What was the nicest compliment you’ve ever received?

Ludowig: My daughters once said that I’m a cool mom. That kind of touched me a lot. I think it’s great that I have such a close and friendly relationship with both of them.

Are cosmetic surgeries an issue for you?

Ludowig: I think everyone should do what makes them feel good.
