Free instead of € 4.49: This app shows you real greatness

Today NextPit recommends an app for iOS, which is currently free and is actually aimed at kids. “Universal Zoom” normally costs 4.49 euros in the Apple AppStore and is certainly also suitable for significantly older children, believe me!

  • Universal Zoom compares various objects with one another
  • 4.9 stars in the AppStore, but with only 218 ratings
  • The app is only available in English and Russian

Usually our “Free App” articles are about giving you the opportunity to download an app that is actually paid for for free. This is currently the case with Universal Zoom, because instead of 4.49 euros you currently pay for it – nothing at all. But in cases like these, for me personally it is also about drawing a little more attention to an app. Because I think Universal Zoom deserves a bigger audience.

Why is it worth downloading Universal Zoom for iOS?

First of all, Universal Zoom is an app from the Education department. It is basically aimed at kids who, according to the Gamifylt programmer, should be between nine and eleven years old. The app is not available in German, which in this case is not really a hurdle, because it is mainly about what you see.

And what you see is really impressive! The app is essentially about distances and sizes. You can compare over 200 objects with one another – from the tiniest, subatomic particles to planets and the entire Milky Way. How big is the Empire State Building compared to the Eiffel Tower? How big is a Saturn moon compared to the Death Star or a human cell compared to an atomic nucleus?

I find these comparisons incredibly exciting and it is at these moments that I look jealously at iOS users, because the app is unfortunately not available in the Google Play Store. By the way, you can choose between the metric system and the US units for the units. The app is also optimized for the iPad, but can also be used on the iPhone, Mac or Apple TV. iOS 12.0 or iPadOS 12.0 should at least be there!

How does “Universal Zoom” deal with your privacy?

This section of the article is easiest to write when the phrase “Data Not Collected” lights up in the Apple AppStore. No data is collected, you don’t need an account, you don’t buy anything within the game and you don’t have to endure any advertising. The company’s English-language privacy policy is short and painless and confirms once again that you can use the app without a headache.

So there is nothing to worry about – apart from the fact that you spend too long reading this article and risk that the app may no longer be free soon!

So give this 4.9-star app a chance, download it and help make this part a little better known! And don’t forget: It is really not only beneficial for very small iOS users, but for everyone who would like to learn more about our world.
