The operator Free launched on Tuesday a new connected security offer, without obligation, installable in 15 minutes. Made up of 5 pieces of equipment, it offers different packages for Freebox subscribers.
After launching a Security Pack a few years ago at the time of the Freebox Delta, Free unveiled, this Tuesday, March 26, 2024, a new home security offer, in partnership with Qiara. The young start-up, founded in 2022 by the former deputy general manager of the parent company Iliad Alexis Bidinot, offers an entire home automation security environment, with five objects: surveillance camera, motion detector, opening detector, alarm siren and digital keypad. Free Qiara, a connected security offer with equipment that can be installed in 15 minutes
Only 10% of French homes are today equipped with a connected security solution. So obviously, for Free, the opportunity was too good and the operator offers its users the new generation connected alarm system Qiara to its subscribers, with a no-obligation offer. Free and Qiara offer an “Essential Pack”, with 5 connected objects:
- A full HD surveillance camera. It is equipped with a shutter and houses, as a small bonus, a sensor which allows you to measure the quality of the air in the home and the temperature.
- A motion detector. Equipped with an infrared sensor, it has a range of six meters and ignores the presence of pets. It immediately alerts the user in the event of an intrusion.
- An opening detector. Placed on each window and door, it protects all entrances and also warns at the slightest opening.
- An alarm siren (105 dB). The siren is automatically triggered if an opening or movement is detected, with real-time notification. Note that in the event of an Internet outage at home, the siren can take over by connecting to the Sigfox 0G network, a cellular network which allows a real-time notification to be sent at the slightest movement.
- A numeric keypad. It allows you to control, activate and deactivate the alarm.
When it comes to installation and connection, Qiara emphasizes simplicity. At a press conference, the young company was able to confirm this: it does not take more than 15 minutes to install the equipment yourself, guided by the application (available on Android and iOS), compared to several hours in the event of intervention of a technician at a competitor, Homiris or Verisure not to mention them.
Three offers offered, and advantageous prices for Freebox subscribers
The Qiara Essential Pack, which contains the 5 pieces of equipment, costs 249 euros to purchase. For Freebox subscribers, it is available at the more advantageous price of 199 euros. Three service offers, including one included in the pack, are offered by Qiara, each time without obligation. Here they are :
- Qiara Basic (free). Here, you have a single access to the application, activation and deactivation of the system from the dedicated application, live access to videos, instant intrusion notifications, and security mode. day/night alarm activation.
- Qiara Plus (9.99 euros/month, or 7.99 euros/month for Freebox subscribers).
