Free Mobile: subscribers can finally switch to the eSIM, here’s how

Good news awaits Free Mobile subscribers today. Indeed, one of them discovered that it was now possible to activate his eSIM card via the operator’s customer service. The operator announced last month that the deployment should not delay. We therefore expect an official announcement within a few days.

It is an announcement that is long overdue. Two years ago, Xavier Niel announced with great fanfare the arrival of VoLTE and eSIM support for all Free Mobile subscribers. If VoLTE has finally arrived in the meantime, users are still waiting to be able to activate their virtual SIM card. Fortunately, it seems that the wait is now coming to an end. Indeed, this is what one of them reveals to us on Twitter.

Indeed, for the modest sum of €10, the price of a SIM card, it is possible to migrate your subscription to a virtual SIM. This option is available to existing customers and only through Free Mobile’s WhatsApp customer service. According to Univers Freebox user Tiino-X83, it is also possible to go through Free Proxy to perform the operation.

Free Mobile finally activates the eSIM option for its subscribers

To do this, you first need to have ordered your eSIM card. Once done, you can go to your Mobile Subscriber Area, then to the section My SIM orders. A QR code is then displayed on the screen, which you will need to scan with your smartphone. Free will then text you a verification code to enter on its website. The download of your eSIM can finally begin.

Note that the operation can take up to several minutes, so you will have to be a little patient. You may also need to restart your smartphone to complete the process. Anyway, this is great news for all subscribers who have been waiting for this for several years now.
