The operator is launching two new options allowing its subscribers to protect their devices as well as their internet connections.

Free has offered security tools to its subscribers for more than a decade
As reminded Freebox Universe, Free has been offering solutions for 13 years to help its subscribers secure their connections. In partnership with the famous antivirus publisher McAfee, Xavier Niel’s operator previously offered an option, billed at 4.99 euros per month and offering antivirus software to protect against possible computer attacks.
This unique offer no longer exists today. Free has decided to review its catalog of options and now offers two distinct formulas to its customers in order to help them protect their personal data.
The offer is available from the customer area, in the My subscription section, then Protect yourself with McAfee, or by calling customer service.
Two new options, with or without built-in VPN
The first offer, called McAfee Security, essentially takes up the content of the previous offer. It integrates both antivirus protection, basic dark web monitoring as well as a password manager and parental control software. This subscription can be used on five devices in total to protect the family PC, but also the phones and tablets of each member of the tribe. The option costs 4.99 euros per month and remains non-binding.
Alongside it, free users will be able to find a new option, McAfee Advanced Security. In addition to antivirus, password manager and parental controls, the subscription includes advanced dark web monitoring and unlimited VPN included. The latter will make it possible to anonymize a little more its connections to the Web, in particular when the connections are made on a public Wi-Fi network, without affecting internet speeds and connection speeds.
The maximum number of users this time is ten, therefore ideal for the most connected households. The option is a little more expensive, at 6.99 euros per month. It is still without commitment of duration, but remains more affordable than the single payment of a VPN for one or two years of subscription.
