How did you experience this first test as Mika’s talent?
It was quite a strange mix of emotions because I’ve come a long way! Zazie is the only one who turned around during the blind auditions and she didn’t choose me during the battles. I really needed to prove things to myself with this cross battle that I was able to experience thanks to Mika!
What state of mind were you in before going on stage?
I was less stressed than during the blind auditions and the battles. I was a little nervous but above all I wanted to seize the chance I had been given. I had to take my place. I also wanted to have the best time possible so as not to have regrets if the adventure ended. Noah sang right before me. I said to myself, “I’m going to try to do something as good as him,” and that took some pressure off me. I no longer went there to win but to thrive.
Why did you choose to interpret Wasting my young years from London Grammar?
I initially wanted to cover a song from the rock group Kings of Leon. But I had a flash of Waisting my young years. This song touches me a lot because it talks about time passing by and having to seize it. I’m 25 years old and I’ve already put pressure on myself by seeing some popstars break through at the age of 17-18. I said to myself: “What the hell am I doing?”

Yes it’s crazy because I thought it was cooked! When it was time for the public vote, I turned to Zazie, who was initially my coach, and she gave me a thumbs up. I didn’t understand what was happening! I was more focused on my bond with Noah than the competition. I realized my victory when I walked off stage and was asked how I felt.
All this was made possible thanks to Mika, who saved you during the battles… How did you experience this highlight of your adventure The Voice ?
I was obviously super happy to have been saved by Mika but also a little confused because I was taking someone’s place (editor’s note: Mika had already drafted the talent from another team, who had to give up his place to Clement). Despite everything, I had a feeling of unfinished business during my battle. Mika gave me a second chance for cross battles, so it was impossible not to give my best.
Were you still sad to leave your coach Zazie’s team?
A little yes but I’m very happy that it happened like that. I respond well to change. I needed to blossom and it wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t joined Mika’s team along the way. I was able to question myself and realize things that were wrong.
When did your passion for music begin?
I’ve been making music forever. I started playing the piano at the age of five, then I stopped because I couldn’t stand playing Chopin all day long, even though it’s great! (Laughs). The song Time that flies by, which I performed at the blind auditions, is also based on a theme by Chopin. The circle was therefore complete at that moment! I learned to sing on my own. Before The Voice, I had no concept of stage or vocal technique. This show is the catalyst for my musical blossoming.
