French Football Cup: 12 years later, OL will play a final!

Olympique Lyonnais secured their ticket for the Coupe de France final this Tuesday evening, dominating Valenciennes (3-0), in a Groupama Stadium of great evenings. Pierre Sage’s men had difficulty getting rid of the Northerners, who saw Siriné Doucouré’s goal refused for a foul by Anthony Knockaert earlier in the action (39th). Lyon’s salvation arrived in the 51st minute, thanks to Alexandre Lacazette from the penalty spot. Six minutes later, the Rhone captain doubled the lead. 15 minutes before the end of the match, Gift Orban killed all the suspense. OL qualified for a final for the first time in 12 years (1-0 against Quevilly Rouen). Lyon will face, on May 25, the winner of the match between Paris and Rennes, scheduled for this Wednesday evening.
