Are the French series outdated? No, quite the contrary. Foreign broadcasters are snapping them up. In 2021, exports of French audiovisual productions reached new heights, according to a study published Monday by the National Center for Cinema and Animated Image (CNC) and Unifrance. Combining sales, pre-sales and co-production contributions, capital flows from abroad peak at $375.9 million, i.e. 6% more than in 2020.
Some great French successes are now becoming international hits. This is the case ofHPI, the third most watched French series in the history of the small screen. Fiction produced by Mediawan and distributed by Newen Connect has already been sold in “more than 90 territories“. Thus, Japanese, Canadian or Italian viewers were able to watch the program.
