FRIENDS

Monica and Chandler were the dream couple from “Friends”, but without Matthew Perry the sitcom would have taken a shocking turn that fans would hardly accept.

  • “Friends” ended after 10 seasons with a happy ending for all of the main characters – and with a mediocre spin-off for Joey.
  • However, perhaps things would have turned out very differently if Matthew Perry had not prevailed in season 5.
  • One of the writers’ storylines almost put the relationship between Chandler and Monica to the test.

A lot has been reported about “Friends” since it first aired in 1994, after all, the sitcom is and remains a worldwide phenomenon. But due to the tragic death of Chandler actor Matthew Perry, “Friends” is now on everyone’s lips again and stories about Perry are in high demand.

Relatively unknown supporting actors, such as Lisa Cash, also have their say. The actress appeared as a flight attendant in the season 5 episode “Lucky in Vegas (Part 1)”. She didn’t even star alongside Matthew Perry in it, but according to TMZ, her role was actually supposed to be completely different.

Infidelity in the Bing household

As Cash explains in the interview, she was supposed to play an employee at the hotel where Monica and Chandler are staying during their stay in Las Vegas. There an argument breaks out between the couple when Chandler finds out that Monica met her ex-boyfriend Richard for dinner.

When Chandler is left alone in the hotel room, he orders room service food, which is brought to him by a hotel employee (Cash). Chandler and the employee talk, get along well – and end up in bed together!

The scene was written and even rehearsed, but the day before filming, Matthew Perry convinced the writers to remove Chandler’s infidelity from the script. Perry was sure the audience would never forgive Chandler for cheating on Monica – and he was probably right.

Monica and Chandler remained a happy couple until the end of the series in 2004 and Cash had to be content with another, much smaller role.
