AVM has released a software update for the 600 and 600v2 repeaters. The installation is worthwhile in any case, because according to the official changelog it has some improvements given. The WLAN can be distributed even better in the house with the new firmware of the repeaters. Other repeaters from the manufacturer have already been brought up to date in the last few days.
AVM has redesigned and simplified its wizard for setting up the WLAN repeater. But some other changes are likely to be even more important. According to the manufacturer, the Improved WiFi stability and performancewhich should benefit all wireless networks. Interoperability with WLAN routers from other manufacturers has also been taken care of (source: AVM).
For even better protection, there has been a for a long time on the repeaters Support for the WPA3 standard to disposal. If this strong encryption type is activated on the Fritzbox, the setting is automatically adopted by AVM repeaters. However, Windows 10 must be reasonably up-to-date on computers and notebooks and at least version 1903 (from 2019) must be available.
