Media reports: He was transferred to hospice

Concern for Fritz Wepper is growing. According to new media reports, the actor is said to be in a hospice in Upper Bavaria. His wife and daughter visit Wepper regularly and support him.
There is information from the “Bild” newspaper that worries about actors Fritz Wepper, 82, stir up. The tabloid wants to know that he has been in a hospice in Upper Bavaria “for a few days.” Wepper receives daily visits from his wife Susanne Kellermann, 49, and their daughter Filippa, 12.
Media reports: Fritz Wepper is said to be “mentally fit”.
Just a few days before Christmas 2023, Wepper was taken to hospital for blood poisoning. Wepper’s lawyer told the German Press Agency at the time that the actor was “already on the mend,” but the “Bild” newspaper now reports that Fritz had to spend the following Christmas in the hospital. He was treated palliatively for around five weeks. The Federal Ministry of Health informs on its website that “palliative medicine is the goal [hat]”To alleviate the consequences of an illness (palliation) when there is no longer any chance of a cure.”
The “Bild” also wants to know that Wepper is “mentally fit”, can make phone calls and would be happy about visits from his relatives. “But his body is weak and can no longer cope with the numerous setbacks. So Wepper can no longer get up on his own,” the actor’s depressing situation continues. No further details about his health are given. Neither Wepper’s family nor his lawyer have yet confirmed these statements.
Fritz Wepper suffered one setback after another
The last few years have been anything but easy for the actor – both physically and mentally. Wepper suffered blood poisoning in 2011 and almost died as a result of sepsis. An emergency operation saved his life. “One night I was on the rocks. A day later in the clinic and I would be dead,” he explained after the procedure. His first wife Angela von Morgen, †76, died in January 2019. Just two years later, the actor had to undergo tumor surgery and was in the intensive care unit for around five months as a result.
Wepper then recovered in a rehabilitation clinic on Lake Tegernsee near Munich. 2021 was also the year of love for Fritz: he said yes to his second wife Susanne. But just two years later, the next stroke of fate: Fritz’s brother Elmar Wepper, †79, died completely unexpectedly on October 31, 2023. “It is difficult to accept and cannot be put into words at the moment. This emotional loss cannot be compensated for by anything,” explained the grieving Fritz Wepper after his brother’s death.
