Italy is not just Tuscany. In order to inspire explorers for Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the region makes a cheap offer.

In Friuli-Venezia Giulia the signs are pointing to opening. With a special campaign, the region on the Tagliamento wants to make itself more attractive and attract the attention of tourists.

Interested parties can travel by train: If the journey goes to Grado, Lignano Sabbiadoro, Udine or Trieste, the region bears the costs for round trip. The prerequisite is that you book through a specific travel agency, stay two nights and take advantage of the offer by May 31, 2023.

As an additional treat, travelers can also use all public transport around the chosen destination free of charge. Discounts or even free admission are also provided for museums and other sights. Important: the tickets are only valid on Italian territory and for boarding and alighting at Latisana-Lignano-Bibione, Cervignano-Aquileia-Grado, Trieste Airport, Trieste Centrale or Udine train stations.

Discover Trieste

A trip to northern Italy is well worth it. After all, not only Tuscany or South Tyrol have a lot to offer. In Trieste, capital of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and home of the Illy Café, the Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia is an enticing attraction. When the weather is nice, visitors can see the eastern arc of the Alps with the Friulian and Ampezzo Dolomites.

A trip to Miramare Castle on the cliffs of the Gulf of Trieste is a must for every visitor. Another highlight is the “Giant Cave of Trieste”. In the neighboring municipality of Sgonico is the Grotta Gigante, which is in the Guinness Book of Records as the “largest show cave in the world”. So there are enough reasons to explore the region in north-eastern Italy – with a cheap train ticket: Buon viaggio!
