From Harry Potter to The Shining: You might like these 8 theories better than the films themselves!

ENTERTAINMENT

Well-known films and franchises often motivate fans to come up with their own theories about the characters or the story. Some of these fan theories are sometimes even better than the films themselves. We present 8 of them.

With many successful film series, it’s normal for fans to get together to philosophize about possible theories. The greater the success of the film or film series, the greater the number of theories. Some of them certainly go overboard. Others, however, if you look closely, can be very obvious and completely rewrite history.

The better and more coherent the theory is worked out by the audience, the more fascinating it is. Sometimes so much so that viewers even prefer the theory to the conventional canon. There are also amazing theories that mix the worlds of two different films or franchises to create a shared universe and an exciting comparison. We’ll list the theories that might even be better than the film itself.

The Shining (1980) – “The Shining” is Stanley Kubrick’s confession about the moon landing

This bizarre theory is about the successful director Stanley Kubrick, who, according to various conspiracy theories, is said to have helped NASA fake the moon landing. This theory, according to fans of the theory, is supported in his horror classic “The Shining.” The theory is supported by various clues in the film: Danny is wearing an Apollo 11 sweater, room number 237 is said to be a reference to the approximately 237,000 miles from the earth to the moon and the labyrinth would look like a launch pad for a rocket.

Mary Poppins (1964) – Mary Poppins is the same species as Pennywise

The magical nanny Mary Poppins makes it her mission to make children happy in the successful 1965 musical of the same name. However, fans come up with a shocking theory. According to them, Mary Poppins is said to belong to the same species as the horror clown Pennywise from Steven King’s “It” because both have the ability to take advantage of children’s minds. However, Mary Poppins intends to use this ability to make children happy, while Pennywise represents their nightmare.

Harry Potter (2001-2011) – Neville Longbottom is the actual chosen one

“Harry Potter” fans have been putting forward this theory for years. It says that it wasn’t Harry Potter who was the chosen one of the prophecy, but rather the clumsy, lovable Neville Longbottom. This theory is not that absurd, because both lost their parents at the hands of Voldemort or his followers and both were born at the end of July 1980. What’s special about the claim is that our favorite school principal, Albus Dumbledore, knew and was simply using Harry as a scapegoat over the years.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999) – The Power of Jar Jar Binks

Things get a bit absurd in this theory. One of the most bizarre and at the same time convincing “Star Wars” theories is that the clumsy Jar Jar Binks is only faking his stupidity and that he is actually a Sith Lord who has been secretly pulling the strings behind the scenes the entire time. The theory claims that he carefully orchestrated the events with Emperor Palpatine by being clumsy. In this case, his silly movements are supposed to be disguised Force abilities.
