From Harry Potter to The Witcher: did you recognize this actress?

Recently broadcast on Netflix, season 2 of The Witcher gave more importance to the character of Triss Merigold, played by Anna Shaffer. An actress who may have seemed familiar to you if you are a fan of the Harry Potter saga!

Already present in the first season of The Witcher on Netflix, the magician from Maribor, Triss Merigold has a bigger role (and a hair change!) in the second season where she joins Geralt (Henry Cavill) and Ciri (Freya Allan) to Kaer Morhen, in order to help the girl control her magic.

A popular character from The Witcher video games, Triss is played in the series by Anna Shaffer, a 29-year-old English actress. And if the Netflix show allowed her to really make herself known to the international public, the one who played in more than 200 episodes of the British soap opera Hollyoaks actually started her career with a small role in a famous franchise: Harry Potter.

Anna Shaffer’s very first screen role was that of Romilda Vane in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In the novels, this Gryffindor student is younger than Harry and his friends, but in the movies, she is part of the same class as them and is also very interested in the bespectacled wizard. It is she in particular who concocts a love potion for Harry, deposited on chocolates that Ron ends up eating, making him completely gaga for Romilda for a time.

We then see her again quickly in the following two films: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part 1 and 2 where she notably participates in the Battle of Hogwarts. From witch to magician, there is only one step!
