Kubicki sharply attacks proponents of mandatory vaccination
In the fight against the corona pandemic, the Bundestag should soon vote on a general vaccination requirement. FPD Vice Kubicki strictly rejects this. Many supporters are only interested in revenge and retaliation against the unvaccinated, says the Bundestag Vice President.
The deputy FDP chairman Wolfgang Kubicki has sharply directed accusations at the proponents of a general compulsory vaccination. “Many advocates of mandatory vaccination seem to be about revenge and retribution,” and to the unvaccinated, said Kubicki “Zeit Online”. He considers the “joy” of many people in 2G rules and mandatory vaccination no longer rational.
Kubicki, who is also the Vice-President of the Bundestag, is against the introduction of a general vaccination requirement. Together with party colleagues, he formulated a group application against a general compulsory vaccination, which, according to him, is now supported by more than 30 FDP members of the Bundestag. According to the will of the Ampel coalition, the Bundestag should discuss compulsory vaccination in February or March of next year.
Kubicki argued that because people who have been vaccinated are also contagious, he thinks a 1G rule is best: “That means that everyone who comes to a hospital or a nursing home, for example, has to be tested.”
In response to his yes in the vote on an industry-specific vaccination requirement last week, Kubicki said: “I found this approval more difficult than ever before in the Bundestag.” The Bundestag had decided that the staff in medical care and nursing facilities should be vaccinated.
Kubicki also justified his rejection of a general vaccination requirement in a guest post for the Berlin “Tagesspiegel” on Saturday. “The general compulsory vaccination against Sars-CoV-2 is unconstitutional in my view,” wrote the FDP politician. In addition, compulsory vaccination would be a “serious breach of trust” by politicians, because leading politicians had recently definitely ruled out such an obligation.
