From Wednesday in Lower Austria – FFP2 mask requirement at the landlord and in the concert hall

In the fight against the treacherous pandemic, the provincial government of Lower Austria is expanding the mask requirement and relying on home office. “This is how we want to slow down the high number of infections,” explain Vice-President Stephan Pernkopf and State Health Councilor Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig. The mask requirement will also be tightened in other federal states in the coming days.

The FFP2 mask requirement already applies to all public trade as well as to body-friendly service providers, in the area of occasional traffic as well as in museums and libraries. Now, according to the regulation, there are additional areas: From Wednesday, the FFP2 mask must be worn by customers in the hospitality industry on the way to and from the seat. The obligation also applies to guests in the interiors of cultural institutions such as theaters, cinemas, variety shows, cabarets and concert halls – including on the seats during the performances. “At the same time, we are again relying more heavily on home offices in the state administration. Because even in this way, people can be protected from infections. We want to act as a role model for other employers in order to reduce the risk of infection, “said Pernkopf and Königsberger-Ludwig. Stricter in many federal states The mask requirement is also tightened in other federal states: Styria extends the obligation to wear FFP2 masks from Wednesday . In every closed room when another person is present who does not live in the same household, an FFP2 mask is mandatory. This also applies to the workplace, provided that physical contact with other people cannot be ruled out. Furthermore, the FFP2 mask requirement applies in restaurants, when entering and leaving the restaurant and when going to the toilet. Also from Wednesday masks must be worn again in all publicly accessible rooms in Burgenland – for example at events, in public transport, in the hospitality industry and for body-hugging services. The range of vaccinations and tests is being expanded, and Tyrol is also waiting for a further tightening of the corona. As of Wednesday, an FFP2 mask requirement will apply indoors at work in the state. The mask requirement applies if more than one person is in the room. As of Friday, the FFP2 mask requirement applies in Vorarlberg in all public indoor spaces and at work – wherever there is customer contact (retail, catering, body-close service providers). Masks will also have to be worn at events. A distinction between vaccinated and unvaccinated is not provided.
