Front Mission 1st: Remake and Front Mission 2: Remake, modernized versions of Tactical RPGs with Square Enix mechas announced for Switch

The saga Front Mission had a disappointing spin off in the person of left alive in 2019. Not scalded by this failure, Square-Enix revealed some Front Mission 1st: Remake for the Nintendo Switch during Nintendo Direct of this Wednesday evening, which he had developed by Forever Entertainment.

As its name suggests, it will be an HD remake of the first episode of the series of Tactical RPGstarted in 1995, with necessarily modernized graphics and game mechanics.

In the year 2090, people around the world are fighting using war machines called Wanzers to settle their conflicts. Huffman’s Island, the only place where the Oceania Cooperative Union (OCU) and the Unified Continental States (UCS) share a common border, is a hotbed of conflict.

An OCU reconnaissance platoon led by Captain Royd Clive is tasked with going to investigate a munitions factory in UCS They are ambushed by UCS Wanzers, which triggers a whole series of events and plunges the entire island back into war. Royd’s fiancée, Lieutenant Karen Meure, is missing in action.

When Royd is discharged to civilian life, he sets out to investigate Karen’s disappearance. His quest will lead him to the heart of the conspiracy that hides behind the incident and closer to the various powers that organized it.

The project is scheduled for summer 2022 for the moment only on Nintendo Switch, and good news for fans, its sequel FrontMission 2 will be entitled to the same treatment in stride!
