Jakub “Qoubah” Stokalski and Lukasz Juszczyk, both directors of Frostpunk 2 at 11-bit studios, were not very talkative but reassuring: the post-apocalyptic atmosphere of Frostpunk of the first name will be respected, and we should “Soon” be able to catch our eye with a gameplay trailer.
Never mind the (frozen) bollocks
The short minute of video extracted from the game confirms two things: first of all, coal will no longer be the Holy Grail of players, replaced by oil. I have to say that Frostpunk 2 takes place 30 years after the events of the first part, resources, beliefs and populations have therefore evolved. Then, the cities will be much larger than in Frostpunk 1. For the Hibernatus who would have missed the boat of good for nothing frozen, the original 11-bit game was released in 2018 and managed to reach the milestone of 3 million copies sold in 3 years of operation. Title that has fun with players by putting them face to face with a city builder where moral choices follow one another for which the Cornelian adjective is not enough, it is part of this kind of software from which we emerge bloodless and yet highly satisfied. Satisfied to have managed to defeat a city builder who will have tried to push you to call SOS Détresse Amitié for hours. The ideal title for Christmas in short.
Frostpunk 2 is planned for sometime in 2024, on Steam, Epic Game Store and GOG.
