11 bit studios surprised everyone with Frostpunka game about managing a city plagued by freezing cold in a post-apocalyptic world. The Polish studio will soon be back with a sequel, Frostpunk 2taking place 30 years after the events of the first part.
This week, 11 bit studios unveils a new trailer for its game and above all announces that Frostpunk 2 release date is set for July 25, 2024 on PC. Launching in the middle of summer, the vision of snow as far as the eye can see will perhaps help to cool down if there is still a heatwave. Pre-orders are launched, an edition Digitale Deluxe is proposed to notably have access to a seven-day beta next Aprilin order to discover the possibilities of gameplay in sandbox mode. This edition will also include three DLC coming after launch, 72-hour early access to the full game, the news Warm Fleshthe original soundtrack and a artbook.
Diving even deeper in the postapocalyptic abyss, Frostpunk 2 built itself on top of the foundations that made its predecessor a triumph. The game immerses players in a world of intransigent realities and complex social dilemmas, within a city in perpetual expansion. With a broader scope and expansion in all aspects of the game’s mechanics, Frostpunk 2 ratchets up the tension as you lead the city and its inhabitants into an uncertain future.
Much of this tension comes from of the different factions introduced within the city walls and competing for the allegiance of the citizens. Will you submit your decisions to the survivalist nature of Icebloods, supporters of adaptation rather than development? or will you side with the methodical Technocrats, champions of technical progress? Maybe you’d even side with one of the more radicalized groups you’ll encounter in-game. It’s up to you, the city manager.
