During an interview with The Wrap, the director of the two parts of “The Snow Queen” announced that she would not be at the controls of the third adventure of Elsa and Anna.

Frozen 3 was confirmed last February alongside the announcement of Toy Story 5 and Zootopia 2.
But unlike the two previous opuses, director Jennifer Lee will not be back to directing or writing. Questioned by the American site The Wrap, the filmmaker has just revealed that she will not be directing the third film.
“I can’t say where we are with Frozen 3. All of our stories are led by the artists in the studio. The direction we’re taking with this movie didn’t come from me. It came from an amazing person . He’s a newcomer, I haven’t told anyone. I was blown away and I’m having a blast with this team.”.
Since June 2019, Jennifer Lee has served as Creative Director at Walt Disney Animation Studios. She succeeded John Lasseter, who was forced to step down due to accusations against him. The filmmaker and screenwriter will have an advisory role on the third part of the saga that launched it.

She adds : “It’s fun with Frozen, because a lot of artists in the studio grew up with this film and were present throughout the process… Today they appropriate it and I think that’s good.”

What we know about “Frozen 3”
We still know little about Frozen 3. Nevertheless, Idina Menzel, who lends her voice to Elsa in the original version, recently confirmed on the microphone of Billboard that she would resume her role while Kristen Bell had revealed, in June 2022, that she would like to find the character of Anna in a third opus.
Frozen 3: the sequel announced by Kristen Bell?
Released in 2013, the first film in the saga grossed $1.28 billion worldwide while Frozen 2, released in 2019, totaled $1.45 billion at the international box office. So it seemed logical that Walt Disney would give the Nordic sisters a third adventure.
No release date has yet been set, but Disney has already announced the release of a surprise film on November 26, 2025. The previous installments being released in November, it is very likely that this date will be reserved for Frozen 3.
