Which oil is the right one for frying? The oil should be heat-resistant and have a smoke point of over 200 ° C. The smoke point indicates the temperature at which smoke develops in the pan: If the oil starts to smoke, the toxin acolein is released. Therefore, it is better to use these for roasting, such as:

  • Grapeseed oil

Fry crispy onions

Crispy onions go well with hearty dishes as a delicious side dish.

  • 2 onions
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 teaspoon flour

Fry the onions until crispy: step by step

  1. Peel the onions.
  2. Cut into cubes or rings.
  3. Put the oil in the pan.
  4. Dust the onions with the flour and then fry them over medium heat.
  5. Turn regularly.
  6. Remove from heat when the desired degree of browning is achieved. Season with salt if desired.

If you want to make fried onions yourself, you take 3 tablespoons of flour, cover the onions completely and deep-fried them in clarified butter.

Steam the onions until translucent

The vegetables do not have to be fried until they are crispy, the characteristic taste also comes out steamed.
