Fuel prices are rising – cheaper fuel, especially in southern Burgenland

In the past few days alone, fuel prices have risen noticeably. On average, you currently pay around 80 euros for one full refueling – 20 euros more than a year ago. This can cost a lot of money, especially for commuters. Driving in a fuel-efficient way is just as useful as comparing gas stations.

After all: “In a comparison of the federal states, Burgenlanders get off more cheaply than western Austrians. It will be more expensive with Germany or Italy as neighbors. Here, on the other hand, the prices are more similar to those of Hungary, ”says Christian Gratzer from the Austrian Transport Club.

Save fuel in Burgenland
He sees potential savings in Burgenland, especially on short journeys, as the first few kilometers use a lot of fuel. Refueling just before noon can also pay off: Price increases are currently only allowed once a day at 12 noon.

A comparison of the regional prices shows that bargains are more likely to be found in the south than in the north of Burgenland. But even within the districts, it is worth taking a closer look at the tariffs.
