Fuel ran out – the wheel loader and the driver fell into the Taurach

The local volunteer fire department was called to a sawmill in Tamsweg on Friday afternoon. A wheel loader had fallen into the nearby Taurach.

The Tamsweg fire department received the alarm at around 4:30 p.m. For an unknown reason, a wheel loader strayed from the path at a sawmill in the community. The construction machine landed in the Taurach, and the driver managed to get out of it uninjured. Because the vehicle’s operating fluid leaked into the river, the fire department set up an oil barrier. Using cable winches from the firefighting vehicle, the emergency services righted the wheel loader and recovered it.
