These acts of requisition were decided while fuel shortages at service stations are growing.

Faced with fuel shortages which are beginning to become worrying in certain territories, the government proceeded on Friday to new requisitions of agents in the oil sector. They concern the TotalEnergies refineries in Normandy in Gonfreville-l’Orcher (Seine-Maritime) and Donges (Loire-Atlantique), on strike since March 7.

The requisitions at the Normandy refinery were confirmed early this Friday morning by Agnès Pannier-Runacher on RMC. “Pumping restarted,” said the Minister for Energy Transition. These requisitionsaim to resupply petroleum products, in particular aviation fuel for Paris airports“, told AFP Olivier Gantois, president of Ufip, professional union of oil companies. Kerosene stocks at Paris airports were indeed beginning to be critical. In Gonfreville, three employees were requisitioned, said the cabinet of Agnès Pannier-Runacher.

The requisition extended to Fos-sur-Mer

In Donges, six employees were requisitioned this Friday, confirmed the Ministry of Energy Transition, after the information was given a little earlier by the CFDT. “A requisition order was actually issued for the Donges refinery (three people per team). Our objective is to ensure a transfer of fuel in the pipeline towards Vern-sur-Seiche“, a fuel depot near Rennes, he told the Figaro. At the start of the afternoon, a hundred strikers escorted the three employees requisitioned for the afternoon shift to the refinery enclosure, chanting “We are here“, noted an AFP journalist.

This is the third oil site where requisitions have been launched since the start of the mobilization against the pension reform. The first decisions of this type had been announced on Tuesday morning for the Fos-sur-Mer fuel depot, near Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), to deal at that time with the supply problems encountered by the service stations in the south-east of France. This act of requisition was extended Wednesday for 48 hours.
