In France, less than 17% of points of sale are encountering supply difficulties on Thursday.
Gasoline pumps fill up. This Thursday, less than 17% of service stations are still experiencing difficulties nationwide. The situation remains tense in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (29%), in Île-de-France (25.5%), in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (25%) and in Occitanie (20.5%). Everywhere else, less than one service station in five is short of at least one product.
This gradual ebb of local shortages is explained in particular by the measures taken for several days to strengthen the supply of stations. Imports from abroad, transport authorized on weekends, requisition of several employees of oil depots, including ten in Feyzin, announced this morning by Agnès Pannier-Runacher… The measures have borne fruit, at the cost of criticism from the from the unions, who denounced an attack on the right to strike.
In addition, the mobilization affecting the oil sites of TotalEnergies is weakening: if the strike was renewed at the Gonfreville refinery, in Normandy, and at the Feyzin fuel depot, it was lifted in Donges, in Loire-Atlantique, as well as than at La Mède and Flanders.

Consumer behavior is also key: “There is a very strong increase in fuel consumption at service stations“, notes the Ministry of Energy Transition, even speaking of a “gas station rush“. What accentuate the tensions already visible on the ground. The return to normal, once the strike is completely lifted, will however take longer, and should take several days, the time required for the logistics chain to get back in motion. Last Wednesday, however, the Head of State expected a return to normal “in the current” from this week. The numbers don’t prove him right.
