Reunion tour will not take place

The Fugees have to disappoint their fans. The band has canceled the tour to mark the 25th anniversary of the classic album The Score.
Lauryn Hill (46), Wyclef Jean (52) and Pras Michel (49) wanted to be back on stage together as the Fugees and celebrate the 25th anniversary of their classic album “The Score”. But now the trio had to cancel the concerts for the reunion tour. That gave the band in an Instagram post known. “The anniversary tour will not be able to take place,” says the post. “The ongoing Covid pandemic has made tour conditions difficult and we want to make sure our fans and ourselves stay healthy and safe.”
Special appearance in New York
The band is grateful “for the special night we were able to share with some of you in New York with this rare live moment”. The three completed the band’s first performance in 15 years in September 2021 in New York City for the Global Citizen Live event. “If the opportunity arises, public safety and schedule permitting, we hope to do this again soon,” the statement said. The tour was scheduled to start in November 2021 and was postponed to early 2022 at short notice.
The Fugees formed in the early ’90s and released their debut album, Blunted on Reality, in 1994. Two years later the successor “The Score” was released. The album was a conglomeration of the most diverse musical styles, won two Grammys and, with classics such as “Killing Me Softly”, “Ready or Not” and “Fu-Gee-La”, is one of the world’s best-selling music albums. Despite the great success, the band split up afterwards. To date, there is no official reason. Rumor has it that there were differences between Hill and Jean.
