Fujifilm Instax SQ40: for photo memories in a vintage square format

Given the success of the Instax Mini 40, Fujifilm had no choice but to develop an instant camera with a vintage look, but equipped with larger films. Thus was born the Instax SQ40, which should delight enthusiasts looking for a classic body to capture more traditional square images.

To use Fujifilm’s Square film range, you had to equip yourself with one of the manufacturer’s printers or the Instax SQ1. Unfortunately, the latter did not manage to seduce all amateur photographers with its modern style, bringing it closer to the manufacturer’s Instax Mini range rather than the vintage style that Fujifilm knows how to achieve perfectly.

This dilemma is now over with the release of the SQ40, which combines the best of both worlds and still relies on the flagship Instax features. Still without any adjustments to make. And with its selfie mode for group photos, the Square 40 is positioned as the ideal device for capturing the most beautiful memories of warm summer evenings.

Photographers wishing to equip themselves will have to wait until June 29, 2023 before getting their hands on the new Instax SQ40, only available in its black color. To do this, you will have to pay the modest sum of €150, and of course think about adding a box of Fujifilm Instax Square adapted films. In addition, Fujifilm is taking advantage of this SQ40 to launch Square Sunset films, which have a border with warm colors, close to sunsets on the beach.

Fans of films in credit card format can fall back on the Instax Mini EVO in its new brown color, more expensive (200 €), but capable of recording images in digital format, like a classic compact camera.
