full of new features and changes for the free FPS

While waiting for its first season next week, Ubisoft’s free FPS XDefiant is full of new features and changes requested by players.

Ubisoft is thus preparing the ground for season 1 of XDefiant to launch in the best conditions. As such, the free FPS has received numerous improvements to both its gameplay and its stability. Here are the changes made.

XDefiant continues to improve for preseason

A little over a month after its release, XDefiant continues its merry way in the very competitive arena of multiplayer FPS. Ubisoft’s free game obviously met with some success at its launch. However, it needed a few small adjustments to shine more. This took the form of big updates. The most recent ones focus on gameplay, netcode and the experience required to unlock weapon attachments. These elements were among the points most criticized by the community, and the title is improving accordingly.

Thus, XDefiant had seen an initial reduction in the number of experience points required to level up its weapons (from 3500 to 3000 for main weapons, and from 1500 to 1000 for secondary weapons). A new patch has been applied to further reduce this threshold. For the main weapon, you will now only need to earn 1500 experience points to unlock the next accessory. This change is retroactive, and players who have played a few matches should therefore have much higher level weapons than before the update. To counterbalance this, the weapon mastery level to unlock shiny skins has been increased. All this is explained in detail by Mark Rubin, executive producer of the game, via his X.com account.

When it comes to netcode, XDefiant also brings a very welcome change. Now health loss will trigger more quickly when receiving shots. This should reduce the cases where our character appears to die even though he is safely behind a wall. Ubisoft’s free FPS is sure to continue to update over time. It remains to be seen whether he will manage to stay in the race in the long term. First verdict in this sense with its first season on the theme of Rainbow Six, scheduled for July 2.
