Funny: Season 2 of the French series is canceled

Despite its critical success, Fanny Herrero’s Funny series will not have a season 2. A heartbreak for fans of this little nugget who plunged into the world of Parisian stand-up by following the lives of young comedians.

After joy, therefore, comes sadness for fans of the series signed by the creator of Dix pour Cent. Netflix has just confirmed that it will not follow up.

“I’m obviously sad and disappointed that Netflix didn’t let the series settle down more, given the enthusiastic, affectionate reception and testimonials from the press and the public, from lots of young people we don’t know. not know, who insisted on its freshness. What remains is the pride of having done it with my team, of having enjoyed creating these characters which made it possible to reveal four magnificent actors, ”said Fanny Herrero in an interview for Les Inrocks.

Causal link – in a logic that would consist in reducing its costs – or not, this cancellation comes after the announcement of the first loss of subscribers in the history of Netflix which had hitherto only known a unbridled growth. This is not the only project recently abandoned by the platform, with a number concerning the animation sector, including “Pearl”, the animated series project of Meghan Markle.
