The mystery surrounding the death of Gabrielle Petito dissipates. On October 21, the body of Brian Laundrie, the young woman’s boyfriend, was found. “Chris and Roberta Laundrie were informed that the cause of death was a single shot to the head, and that it was a suicide. Chris and Roberta are still mourning the loss of their son and hope that these conclusions will allow families to turn the page“, reacted Brian’s family in a press release.
The family of the young woman, who had been found strangled in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, reacted in turn: “The Schmidt and Petito families have been made aware of the circumstances surrounding the suicide of the only suspect in Gabby’s murder. Gabby’s family will not be making a statement at this time due to the request of the United States Attorney’s Office and the Teton County Attorney’s Office”.

And as the FBI announced in a statement, Brian Laundrie is indeed the murderer of Gabrielle Petito. In a notebook found by the police, the boyfriend of the American traveler confessed to being the author of the murder before committing suicide. “The quality and quantity of facts and information collected by the FBI leave no doubt that Brian Laundrie murdered Gabby,” the victim’s family said in a statement.
“The inquest has not identified anyone other than Brian Laundrie directly involved in Gabby Petito’s tragic death.”, added the FBI, quoted by The Parisian.
