The rather incredible situation in the market for Graphic card translates into “original” promotions, to say the least.

Sad to say, but the offer made by the manufacturer Galax on Twitter is indeed a bargain. Mind you, the offer is only for the United States anyway.

The MSRP… two years later

Remember, end of summer 2020. NVIDIA announces with great fanfare the release of the GeForce RTX 3000 series with, first of all, this famous RTX 3080 at a barely believable price of 719 euros for the Founders Edition.

You all know the rest, if NVIDIA has maintained this price for its FE card, no partner manufacturer has ever offered the RTX 3080 to this MSRP which in fact no longer meant anything at all.

February 2023, almost two and a half years since the RTX 3080 was launched and the GeForce RTX 4000 series are slowly settling in, pushing the previous generation towards release at prices that would become almost “normal” again.

An RTX 3080 under $700

The end of a cycle is usually the occasion to unearth some bargains as manufacturers, wholesalers and resellers make room and empty possible stocks.

This is what Galax announces on Twitter, referring to a “sale” in order to make room and specifying that the promotion will hold as long as there is stock left. A promotion on the GeForce RTX 3080 SG LHR which is sold for $699.99, which corresponds exactly to the MSRP.

Well, we had to wait more than two years and the launch of the next generation for the 3000 series to finally be at its indicative price… and again, we said it in the preamble, this only concerns the United States, a single dealer and a single reference from a single manufacturer!
