Surprise, Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE at CES 2022! The youngest member of the Galaxy S21 series comes in bright colors and with promising specs. This includes a triple camera with a telephoto lens, a large battery with 4,500 mAh and, of course, a display with 120 Hertz. Almost a year after the release of the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung is introducing a new member. As with the previous model, it is a “fan edition” that is supposed to shine with a particularly good price-performance ratio. The Galaxy S21 FE looks almost exactly like its brothers. However, Samsung adds a few more colors and dips the camera hump in plastic. Nevertheless, there is an IP68 certification against water and dust.
Samsung already announced a launch date and a price when it was presented on January 4 at CES 2022. The Galaxy S21 FE will appear on January 11, 2022 with 128 gigabytes for 749 euros. Alternatively, there is a version with 256 gigabytes that costs 819 euros. Samsung currently indicates the availability for its own online shop, alternatively the S21 FE is also available to network operators and online retailers.

At an MSRP of 749 euros, the Galaxy S21 FE is exactly 100 euros cheaper than the “normal” Galaxy S21. For the display, Samsung relies on Dynamic AMOLED with a refresh rate of 120 Hertz. It measures 6.4 inches, which is 0.1 inches smaller than the S20 FE. Gamers will also enjoy a sampling rate of 240 Hertz. The Snapdragon 888 from Qualcomm also works in the S21 FE for smooth mobile games. In addition, the 128 GB version has 6 gigabytes of RAM, with 256 GB of storage space this increases to 8 GB. With the Snapdragon 888, the Galaxy S21 FE supports the new 5G cellular standard.
On the back of the Galaxy S21 FE you can see a triple camera, consisting of a main camera with 12 megapixels, an ultra-wide angle camera with 12 MP and a telephoto camera with 8 megapixels. Except for the ultra wide angle camera, all lenses are optically image stabilized. You take selfies with 32 megapixels. In its press release, Samsung emphasizes an improved night mode. Last but not least, the battery: It measures 4,500 mAh. With quick charging over 25 watts and wireless charging over 15 watts, the S21 FE retains the properties of its predecessor when charging. If you like to buy cell phones in the long term, you can look forward to four years of security updates. The S21 FE is also equipped ex works with Android 12 via OneUI 4.0. This means that the mobile phone offers longer software support than its brothers.
