How fast does the Galaxy S22 charge at the socket? This question worries Samsung fans. A Danish authority is now providing an answer for all three models.

  • Compared to some competitors, Samsung cell phones charge much more slowly.
  • Manufacturers such as Xiaomi or Oppo already achieve a charging capacity of more than 100 watts, while Samsung’s limit is 25 to 45 watts.
  • Apparently nothing will change with the Galaxy S22 for the time being.

Samsung has struggled to keep up with the competition when it comes to fast charging for smartphones in the past. Chinese manufacturers such as Xiaomi and Oppo sometimes achieve charging capacities of more than 100 watts and are far ahead of Samsung. Samsung’s maximum charging speed in 2021 was 25 to 45 watts. This will not change with the Galaxy S22 either. This tells us an entry at the Danish certification authority.

According to the NashvilleChatterclass website, the new smartphones from Samsung were certified and registered there. The Plus models SM/S906E/DS, SM-906E and SM-S9060 and the Ultra models M-S908E/DS, SM-908E, SM-S9080, SC-52C and SCG14 seem to have different charging speeds depending on the region, while the normal S22 will charge in all regions with a maximum of 25 watts. The maximum of the Ultra and Plus models is 45 watts depending on the region.

Unfortunately, the Danish authorities do not provide any information about the capacity of the battery, which is why the charging time cannot yet be estimated. But we will probably find out more on February 9th, when the S22 will be officially presented.
