According to the Ice Universe leaker, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a ” AI detail enhancement mode »For the main camera of 108 MP, intended to improve shots thanks to artificial intelligence. According to him, once the feature is activated, the photos will have ” more detail, colors and brightness than regular 108 MP “.

108 MP sensors allow more detail to be captured than sensors with less megapixels, but have the disadvantage of offering very small photosites, which do not allow much light to pass through. Thanks to artificial intelligence, Samsung could finally improve low light photos to offer similar results to the competition. It is also known that the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s 108 MP sensor will be able to capture macro photos.

Galaxy S22 Ultra will offer better photo performance than Galaxy S22 Ultra

With each new generation of smartphones, we instinctively believe that the new model will perform better than the previous one, but this has not always been the case at Samsung. Indeed, according to DXOMARK tests, the Galaxy S21 Ultra came out less powerful in photo than the Galaxy S20 Ultra of 2020, and it took many updates before Samsung corrected it.

In another tweet, Ice Universe confirmed that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be much better than its predecessor in photos. According to its sources, approximately 70% of S22 Ultra improvements come from new software features, while only 30% is due to hardware improvements. Samsung would rely heavily on artificial intelligence to improve the quality of the shots captured by its high-end smartphone.

Samsung will therefore integrate a special button to improve the 108 MP shots directly on the main screen of its camera application. As you can see below on the Ice Universe image, the button will be on the bottom right, and it will be enough to activate it to get better shots. However, we will have to wait to be able to test this functionality to ensure the performance of this artificial intelligence. The wait would also be longer than expected, since Samsung has postponed the launch of the Galaxy S22.
