The Samsung Galaxy S23 is apparently getting a satellite feature. This notice makes you sit up and take notice.

- A South Korean IT portal claims that Samsung will install satellite communication features.
- To do this, the smartphone giant would work with the US satellite company Iridium.
- Samsung itself has not commented on this.
In Canada and the USA, iPhone 14 users can already make emergency calls via satellite if the cell phone network is not available. Now Samsung follows and could build satellite communication into the new flagship Galaxy S23.
According to colleagues from Gizmochina, who refer to the South Korean IT portal “etnews”, it should be possible to send text messages and smaller images with a size of a few hundred kilobytes via satellite.
Samsung would work with the US satellite company Iridium and, according to the IT portal, had already produced a satellite antenna that fits into a smartphone without sticking out too much. In fact, you need a large antenna for good reception.
However, Samsung has not yet commented on this. The Galaxy S23 is expected to be released in early 2023.
