The Galaxy Tab S8 from Samsung gets the update to Android 12L. The update also includes the new One UI 4.1.1 user interface introduced with the Fold 4.
Samsung is rolling out a major Android update to select Galaxy devices ahead of Android 13. The Galaxy Tab S8 and the sister models Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra are currently being updated to Android 12L in Europe and South Korea.
This is a version of Android 12 specially developed by Google for tablets and cell phones with large screens. According to SamMobile, the update also includes the One UI 4.1.1 user interface recently introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
It contains various optimizations for multitasking – such as a taskbar that remains visible at the bottom of the screen and allows quick switching between different apps. Also included in the update is the Android security patch for August.
According to an insider, Samsung will soon roll out Android 12L for these other Galaxy models.
