Galaxy Watch 7: Samsung reportedly working on a new Exynos chip

While the Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra have been made official by Samsung, a new product is making waves: the Galaxy Watch 7. And it seems that Samsung has increased the performance for this new generation.

In Twitter post/X from Friday January 19, 2024, Roland Quandt discusses the processor of the next connected watches. The WinFuture journalist indicates that Samsung would be working internally on the Exynos 5535, a chip which would potentially be renamed Exynos W940 subsequently.

For information, the Galaxy Watch 6 released in 2023 were entitled to the Exynos W930, offering slightly better performance than the Exynos W920 of the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5.

Roland Quandt adds that Samsung would develop two other chips, whose internal code names are respectively Exynos 5200 and Exynos 6375. It is not clear, however, which products they are intended for.

While waiting for more information on the performance of the Galaxy Watch 7, Samsung should highlight two new mid-range chips for smartphones: the Exynos 1430 and Exynos 1480, in principle initially reserved for the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 .

Rumors also mention that the latter would be entitled to improved graphics thanks to AMD RDNA GPUs. In August, the leaker Revegnus pointed out in a Twitter/X publication that this development would improve image processing, without however bringing any significant change to the gaming experience.
