Galaxy Z Flip 6: it’s the turn of Samsung’s future folding clamshell to show off

Just one day after showing what the Galaxy Z Fold 6 would look like, the leaker OnLeaks is back and communicating via SmartPrix renderings of the other Samsung folding model of 2024: the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

At first glance, nothing seems to have changed compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 5. We indeed find the same formula as last year with a 6.7-inch folding screen, a 3.4-inch external panel and a module rear photo with two sensors.

In terms of the chassis, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 does not reinvent the formula either and retains flat edges. The only change to note is at the top of the device, which adopts two microphones compared to just one on the current model. We then find the same elements: on the left side a volume button and another power button with fingerprint sensor, on the right the slot for the SIM card and at the bottom two microphones, a USB-C port and a loud speaker.

The future folding clamshell model would gain in thickness compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 5: 7.4 mm instead of 6.9 mm. This development could thus mark the arrival of a larger battery on the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which would help to overcome a weak point of the range: autonomy. According to a GalaxyClub report published at the end of January 2024, the battery would increase from 3700 mAh to 4000 mAh.

Among other expected changes between the two generations, SmartPrix points out that Samsung should get rid of the crease on its foldable flip phone, “or at least make it less apparent”. The device would feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and Galaxy AI features from the Galaxy S24.
