Samsung is already working on the Galaxy Z Fold 5. After the Galaxy Z Fold 4 could already be used with an S Pen but was not equipped with a corresponding port, many fans are hoping for a corresponding slot in the new model. After initial hope, in all probability nothing will come of it again.
As the Korean magazine etnews reports, Samsung has once again decided against an S Pen slot for reasons of space. The manufacturer refers to technical hurdles. In order to store the pen in the housing, the folding cell phone would have to be significantly thicker. And that contradicts Samsung’s plans for the next version of the foldable phone series.
According to the report, a new hinge technology is partly to blame for the lack of space in the case. As a result, the interior structure has also changed compared to its predecessor. It remains to be seen whether this improvement will be enough to make S Pen fans happy.
