Galaxy Z Fold 6: Samsung’s next folding smartphone revealed in images

After the release of the Galaxy S24, Samsung is expected to announce entry-level and mid-range smartphones soon. We are thinking in particular of the long-awaited Galaxy A35 and A55. For more premium models, you will have to wait for the Galaxy Unpacked this summer, supposed to lift the veil on new folding devices.

To keep us waiting, leaker OnLeaks shared first renderings of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Published on the site SmartPrixthese first images show some interesting developments compared to the 2023 version.

To begin with, the chassis is very similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. We notice in fact that the edges, rounded on the Galaxy Z Fold 5, now adopt a square format. In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 measures 153.5 x 132.5 x 6.1 mm when unfolded. It is therefore 1.4 mm shorter and 2.6 mm narrower. On the thickness side, recent rumors mentioned a nice slimming treatment when the device is folded (11 mm instead of 13.4 mm).

Concerning the display, the folding smartphone would adopt a 6.2-inch external screen and a 7.6-inch internal display, the same diagonals as the current generation. Finally, we find several familiar design elements:

  • A photo module with three sensors;
  • Three microphones and a speaker on the upper edge;
  • A microphone, speaker and USB-C port at the bottom;
  • The volume and power buttons on the right;
  • A SIM card slot on the right.

On the technical sheet side, SmartPrix evokes a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip coupled with 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of maximum storage; a 120 Hz OLEOledD screen; a 50 Mpx main sensor, a 12 Mpx ultra-wide-angle and a 10 Mpx telephoto lens on the rear; or a 10 Mpx selfie camera.

Scheduled for July 2024, Galaxy Unpacked during which the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will be presented will also be an opportunity for Samsung to completely lift the veil on its connected ring: the Galaxy Ring.
