On Reddit, a player fondly remembered the game he played… in his dentist’s waiting room. A nostalgic moment that pushes us to return to the future of the Crash Bandicoot license.

A gamer’s nostalgia takes over Reddit

On Reddit, players regularly share nostalgic messages allowing many players to remember their best years of gaming. Recently, it was the user Verytastytreats who published a post mentioning his dentist’s waiting room in which he could play Crash Team Racing, a title first released in 1999, one of the best of the Playstation 1 era and a big competitor to Mario Kart. Beyond the many positive reactions from users of the platform, this message also reminds us of the existence of the remake Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled released twenty years later. But what about the other games in the Crash Bandicoot license?

Where did Crash Bandicoot go?

An inseparable mascot from the Playstation ecosystem, Crash Bandicoot has more or less been present on each generation of console. After the remake of the first three opuses released in 2017 and entitled Crash Bandicoot N. Sane TrilogyActivision decided to entrust the license to Toys for Bob which developed Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Timea game published in 2022. And last year, the Crash team returned in a new format with Crash Team Rumblea sort of MOBA where two teams made up of two players face each other.

But what about a fifth major opus? To tell the truth, nothing is certain at the moment. We know that Toys for Bob now belongs to Microsoft. The studio was then part of the Activision-Blizzard-King group, but has just regained its independence. And according to the latest news, the teams are already working with Microsoft on their next project which would concern another famous video game mascot: Spyro the dragon. Now under the leadership of Xbox, Crash and his friends do not currently have any projects associated with them. We obviously hope to hear from them soon.
