Two new consoles coming?
However, Microsoft still remains a console manufacturer and placed its Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on the market at the end of 2020. The figures would be below expectations, but Microsoft Gaming would still achieve the best scores in its history and Game Pass continues to progress quietly.
Anyway, insider Magg has just revealed on the “XNC Podcast” show that the company planned to release a brand new console around the end of 2026even if the date should not be taken at face value according to him because plans can still change.
There would be two versions of this machine:
- one in the living roomsimilar to an Xbox Series
- another Nintendo Switch-style nomad. The latter could also be connected to a dock and therefore to a television, while its power would be less: its development would be entrusted in particular to the team working on Microsoft’s “Surface”.

Finally, Magg confirms that these new consoles would indeed be linked to the new “hybrid” generation that we had already seen recently in recent leaks on the future of Xbox : there would therefore be the integration of cloud gaming and hardware, a fairly interesting concept on paper, we must admit.
