Last night took place the Developer_Direct, the digital format favored by Xbox to talk about its games coming this year. Five titles were presented and with Indiana Jones, one game got people talking.
Hellbalde 2: an adventure in Viking Iceland for Senua
Along with Avowed and Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 serves as a highly anticipated Xbox exclusive. Spectators present yesterday during the Developer_Direct were able to have a more in-depth presentation of the expected title for May 21. This second part is the continuation of the episode released in 2017 (already 7 years!). Set in the 10th century, this adventure takes place in the heart of Viking Iceland. After going to hell to save her husband’s soul, Senua goes to enemy territory for her people… but also for herself.
The Ninja Theory studio, after a first quick presentation in 2019, took advantage of the Developer Direct to dive into the design details of this title. He explains in particular that he went to Iceland to make the game as faithful as possible; worked on the spatialization of sound in order to accurately translate the heroine’s psychosis; and explains that Senua is not a heroine. We must therefore make the confrontations difficult and give the players the feeling that they have just narrowly escaped death.
Hellbalde 2: under Unreal Engine 5, the game capsizes players’ retinas
In addition to the studio’s rich and interesting explanations regarding Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, the video shown yesterday during the Developer Direct included gameplay excerpts. The title, developed under the Unreal Engine 5 game engine, seems to appeal to some players. This is evidenced by the comments during the live broadcast which were numerous in favor of the atmosphere given off by the title:

I have high expectations from this game, I’m managing my expectations but nonetheless anticipating greatness. The passion for Senua’s character is palpable, I truly believe she could become one of the greatest characters in gaming as an art form. I can’t wait to play!
