The Assassin’s Creed license made its big return to the forefront by announcing two new main titles planned for the coming months. These should be available on a brand new service named Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which will serve as an access portal to future games in the series, like Fortnite which offers access to its Lego game mode. Speaking of said next episodes, the first of the diptych, provisionally named Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, will take players to the heart of feudal Japan in what appears to be the Sengoku erain a formula similar to the last opus, anchored in an RPG genre.

The title would place us in control of a young kunoichi (female ninja) named Naoe, whose objective would be to avenge the death of her father, the legendary ninja: Nagato Fujibayashi. In her quest, she will cross paths with another historical figure in Japanese history: Yasuke, a samurai of Mozambican origin, in the service of the daimyō Oda Nobunaga. The title therefore seems profoundly be part of Japanese historical mythology, coming very close to another title regularly considered the “Japanese Assassin’s Creed”: Ghost of Tsushima. Everything also suggests that the two characters could be playable, but nothing has yet been made official on this front. If this is, for the moment, the only information that Ubisoft has leaked concerning this new opus, another title has also been revealed, and this one promises a radical change of scenery.

Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe (Hexe meaning witch in German), although it has so far only revealed a simple teaser, seems to promise players an adventure in the heart of Europe, in the middle of a witch hunt. As suggested by the glyphs present in the ad, meaning “we work in darkness to serve the light”, and according to several rumors and rumors, the game will take place from the point of view of Elsa, an assassin with a strong focus on witchcraft.

According to the first feedback from insiders who had access to demonstration videos, the title would likely include a fear system, like the Jack the Ripper DLC fromAssassin’s Creed Syndicate. In the latter, the players played the role of the famous Ripper and had a very particular power over London: as they committed crimes in front of everyone, terror gradually took possession of the NPCs in the game.
