After having a string of great vintages, Capcom could well release its most ambitious game by next year according to these latest rumors.

2025, monster year?

If players around the world are impatiently waiting for 2025 to finally discover Grand Theft Auto VIRockstar’s title could face a major challenger while Capcom plans to release “the most ambitious game in its history. In any case, this is what declared the insider Dusk Golem, who spoke already illustrated as a reliable source on numerous occasions, by announcing that the legendary Japanese studio intended to release its next Monster Hunter game by the first quarter of 2025.

According to the insider, this new opus should be “the biggest game ever developed by Capcom”. A project which he says has been in development since 2019, shortly after the release of Monster Hunter World and which would also contain “many abandoned ideas from World”.

A serious contender for GOTY?

Dusk Golem continues and explains that this Monster Hunter Wilds would venture into lands hitherto unknown by the license by offering an open world formula which would push the limits of the concepts introduced in the two previous opuses even further. The software would be “much more experimental” than the latter while its director would have had carte blanche. A real risk-taking for Capcom which seems to be paying off, since the insider declares that the first returns would be “superb so far”.

Finally, Dusk Golem ends by saying that the studio would bet on this game to carry it for the entire fiscal year. A major title for Capcom therefore, which would not be shy and would not even intend to postpone its release in the face of GTA 6. Obviously, all of this information is not official and should therefore be taken with a pinch of salt. That being said, after MH World and Rise, a turn to the open world seems to be the logical next step for the license. It now remains to be seen whether the project is as good as the insider claims. Answer, at best, by next year.
