The Elder Scrolls series has been occupying our screens for 30 years and Elder Scrolls continues to make fans salivate. If the series deserves an anniversary with great fanfare, Bethesda took the opportunity to communicate about the progress of the next game in the series.

This Monday March 25 marked 30 years of The Elder Scrolls series. Indeed, The Elder Scrolls: Arena, released in 1994, already laid all the foundations, making the saga one of the best RPG series of all time. On this occasion, the developers shared a letter returning to this long story and slipping in some small information about the next episode, The Elder Scrolls 6.

Developer Thanks

If Arena laid the first stones, Daggerfall completed the model of the series before Morrowind carries the license to console, finally anchoring it in the consciousness of the players. These games have required the work of a large number of developers, offering extraordinary adventures to all who lay their hands on their titles.

Hundreds of developers have spent time on The Elder Scrolls over the course of 30 years. As the series has grown, so have we. Until today, each chapter aims to allow us all to live another life, in another world. – Bethesda (on X)

If the new opus announced at E3 2018 has, to this day, still no proper name nor has it provided any information other than a brief teaser, it’s a desire of the developers. This announcement was not originally intended to provide any information, but simply to reassure players about the development of the game. However, the latest message from the game teams has finally given some news of the title to be published.

The game is progressing (quietly)

The Elder Scrolls VI is widely anticipated by players, even to the point of harassing developers about it, despite the releases of other titles like Fallout 76 or Starfield. In their commemorative letter for the 30th anniversary of the series, Bethesda slips in a (very) small nod to the upcoming title.

We are currently developing the next chapter: The Elder Scrolls 6. Even today, returning to Tamriel and playing the test versions fills us with the same joy, enthusiasm and promise of adventure. – Bethesda (on X)

Even if these few words don’t represent much as it stands, they still teach us that a trial version is playable on the developers’ side. Development therefore seems to be progressing well. Perhaps we can therefore expect have news of the project soon.
